Earlier this month, the Center for Asian Studies and Muslims in the Mountain West Project organized "Muslim Voices in the Heartland," a conference exploring regional practitioners of Islam. Assistant Professor Nabil Echchaibi led the three-day conference and was interviewed for an article in the Denver Post. Some discussion revolved around the recent Newsweek "Muslim Rage" cover, and analzying Western media perceptions of Muslims.
