Susan has been employed at CU Boulder since November 1983, and she has worked in many departments on campus including payroll, parking and transportation services and ethnic studies. Her most recent job was with the Department of  Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences, where she worked for seven years as an undergraduate program coordinator, mentoring and advising undergraduate majors and minors.

Susan has touched the lives of many students, providing a warm and caring face to the departments, and she contributed greatly to student recruitment, retention and success. She was awarded a Marinus Smith Award in 2017 for positive impact on the lives of CU Boulder students and their families.  She also received an Equity and Excellence Staff Honorable Mention Award from CU Boulder's Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement in 2008.

Susan is a Boulder native and loves spending time with her husband, Jeff, and her four adult children and two dogs. In her spare time she loves to hike, ski, work out, travel and volunteer with Ho-Bo Boxer (dog) rescue.
