The Motion Capture (MoCap) Lab is a state-of-the-art motion capture facility designed to measure and digitally record the movement of objects and people in three-dimensional space. The lab includes a 360-degree array of multiple cameras, each capable of taking hundreds of frames per second. By comparing images, movement in the lab is precisely reconstructed and recorded. The technology has numerous applications in virtual reality, design, assistive technologies, animation, game design, theater, experience design and more. The laboratory is sponsored by CU Boulder's Engineering Excellence Fund and the ATLAS Institute.
