Josh Knowles

Josh Knowles is a software engineer and interactive artist working in Austin and New York City. He graduated with a master’s degree from New York University’s prestigious Interactive Telecommunications Program in the Tisch School of the Arts in 2007 and has since worked on launching a variety of tech start-ups, including the diabetes self-care company, One Drop. He has also worked on numerous creative physical space installation projects for clients, including New Era, Jessica Simpson, iHeartMedia and HBO’s Game of Thrones. He’s also built gaming and interactive experiences for clients, including OK Go, MTV, the Field Museum of Chicago and for Deepak Chopra’s game, “Leela.” He has given talks on music, interactive art, gaming and software design at events including, SXSW, PICNIC, Come Out and Play, MobileMusicWorkshop and the New Interfaces for Musical Expression conference. For many years he taught classes as an adjunct professor at NYU and New York’s School of Visual Arts.
