Creative Technology & Design Bachelor's of Science Core Curriculum
The Creative Technology & Design (CTD) program is built around a series of six core classes that teach you how to work with different media to create and communicate ideas. By developing skills in graphic design, web development, image making, audio production, fabrication and interactive computing, you’ll graduate with a broad, adaptable toolkit that can translate across a wide range of roles and industries.
Form
Computer model original designs for functional items, then build them with 3D printers, table saws, sewing machines and other tools.
Image
Gain essential skills in photography, video, animation, and augmented reality/virtual reality to enhance storytelling.
Object
Combine physical and digital making to create interactive objects with electronics, microcontrollers and industrial design.
Sound
Explore the creative and technical sides of audio production and interactivity. Use digital and analog gear to synthesize and sequence compositions.
Text
Learn the fundamentals of graphic design. Create with typography, symbolism, graphics and images across print and analog media.
Web
Explore the principles of good web design using HTML, CSS and JavaSCript to build a portfolio site and other online projects.
