Bret McSpadden
Information and Communication Technology for Development Master's Student

Bret McSpadden grew up outside of Kansas City, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from nearby Baker University. For two years he volunteer-taught with WorldTeach in northern Namibia, and two years later he was managing the WorldTeach programs in Namibia, working closely with volunteers and the Ministry of Education to help close gaps in ICT and English education. After leaving Namibia, Bret continued with WorldTeach in Boston overseeing yearlong and summer programs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific while also working to standardize health and safety procedures and manage technology throughout the organization. As an ICTD graduate student, Bret is looking forward to broadening his perspective on development and continuing to utilize technology to meet local needs.
