BS Creative Technology and Design

Welcome to ATLAS!

If you can't make it to campus this spring, we can still arrange for personalized meetings with faculty and advisors, connect you with current students and answer your questions. We've also assembled a collection of videos, student portfolios and stories to help you imagine life as an ATLAS Creative Technology & Design student at CU Boulder. And if there's anything you can't find answers to, email atlascommunications@colorado.edu and we'll put you in touch with the right person.

Breaking stereotypes

These three CTD student profiles are part of a series aimed at dissolving stereotypes around engineering and opening the doors to everyone interested in working in technical fields where demand for expertise is only going to grow. These profiles include students' goals, why they chose CU Boulder, what they enjoy most about being an engineering student and more. We love the series and are proud to share these with you.

If you are an admitted student for fall 2020 and have questions for current CTD students, email atlascommunications@colorado.edu and we'll put you in touch or answer your questions.

Undergraduate Capstone Projects

During their final year at CU Boulder, CTD students work on a capstone project. The videos below feature students discussing their culminating work.

Body by Armon Naeini TAM '19*
An interactive motion tracking project that dynamically projects colorfully rendered silhouettes.

EO Rafelson BS-CTD '22
Kaleideo: a projection technology that takes visuals generated by a physical kaleidoscope and projects them digitally on a planetarium dome, with colors dynamically controlled in real-time by the operator.

Jordan Nahabetian, TAM '19*
LifeLink: Laser cut wooden device with capacitive touch that encourages connection between technology and nature.

Undergraduate CTD Student Portfolios

Students in Creative Technology & Design create an amazing breadth of projects. Straddling the divide between engineering and design, between researching and making, isn't for everyone. Our students have to learn how to document and discuss their projects with people who may be unfamiliar with their studies. We help them create a robust portfolio that sets them up to get jobs at places like the United Nations, Lufthansa, Meow Wolf, The Walt Disney Company, Northrop Grumman Space Systems and more.   Shown here are a representative set of portfolios from seniors graduating in the 2019/2020 academic year.  Find more portfolios from 2019/2020 seniors here.
