Giving in Action: Center for Humanities & the Arts

Every gift to the Center for Humanities & the Arts (CHA) makes a difference. Your donation helps our students succeed, opens avenues for innovation, and funds research that benefits our communities among numerous other avenues that matter most to our donors, students or faculty.

At the CHA we believe that arts and humanities give meaning—and what we mean by that is engagement in, and support for, humanities and arts provide meaning to our lives. The research and scholarship produced by humanities faculty and the art that faculty artists produce add to the richness and texture of human life. The students, staff and faculty who have been supported by various grants and fellowships throughout our twenty-five-year history represent the best and brightest of CU Boulder—especially our students. Their art installations, their dissertation research, their MFA writing projects, their films, and musical compositions—all of their work that is so vital to having them complete their degrees was, in part, made possible through the many endowments at the CHA that support the many fellowship and grant programs we have for our graduate students. We are grateful to our donors and welcome you to explore more of what we do at the CHA on our website.

The CHA Fellowship was the first chance I had to focus for a sustained amount of time just on my
research. It made a considerable difference in my ability to finish my degree and to produce important
and impactful work.

PhD Candidate, English, 2022.

Receiving this CHA award at this time was a lifeline for taking action on my own artist project. This allowed to me to deepen my relationships with important artistic collaborators and to manifest the next phase of my current research.
