Lesson 2 introduces students to using the pods through an activity measuring car emissions.

The corresponding video series Combustion and Health Effects of Air Quality are intended to supplement this lesson. 

The main learning objectives are: 

  • Learn how to collect data with the low-cost monitors

  • Explain the difference between complete and incomplete combustion

  • Predict pollutants emitted for a given situation based on knowledge of combustion chemistry and other observations
