SQIQ Lesson 1
Lesson 1 provides an introduction to soil quality and monitoring technologies.
The learning objectives for the introductory lesson are for the students to be able to:
- Describe how soil is formed and classified.
- Described 5 reasons why studying soil quality is important: five essential functions of soil.
- Understand how indicators (soil properties) are used to assess soil quality.
- Understand how to use the SQIQ pods to answer soil quality questions.
The learning objectives for the soil respiration lesson are for students to be able to:
- Understand what soil respiration is.
- Understanding when and how to use soil respiration as a soil quality indicator.
- Complete a soil respiration test on a collected soil sample.
