The George Lynn Memorial Award for Research and Performance

GEORGE LYNNThe American Music Research Center and members of the Lynn family invite CU student musicians, both graduates and undergraduates, who are planning to perform or undertake research related to George Lynn’s music, to apply for the annual George Lynn Award by Friday, APRIL 10, 2020. The application date is now delayed due to access-to-materials complications from the coronavirus outbreak.  Please check back soon for a revised due date.

This award comes with a $1000 prize and supports work that takes place from May 2020 - April 2021.  After completion of the project the award winner is expected to submit a short report summarizing the work and research accomplished.

Activities eligible to receive this award include:

Public performances or recitals of Lynn’s extensive catalogue of vocal, instrumental chamber, choral, or orchestral music.

Recording projects of all kinds related to the above in the coming year.

Research or prospective publications that use primary sources related to Lynn’s career as a conductor, teacher and composer [such as personal family scrapbooks].

AMRC Visiting Fellow Travel Grant 

aerial of mackyQualified scholars engaged in pre/post doctoral or independent research related to AMRC materials or music-related collections or projects are encouraged to apply. A stipend of $800 is offered to help defray travel and lodging costs.
