Winter Session tuition is assessed at a per-credit hour rate in addition to any tuition paid on campus. A single rate is charged regardless of a student’s in-state or out-of-state classification.
2020-2021 Academic Year
You will be billed for your Winter Session registration through the Division of Continuing Education. Bills are available through Buff Portal. A 1% service charge is added to an unpaid balance after the tuition due date, and a financial stop is placed on your student record. All tuition and refund determinations are subject to audit.
Current CU Boulder Students:
Winter Session tuition through Continuing Education is charged in addition to main campus tuition when enrolled in both programs concurrently. For example, if you enroll in both main campus courses and a Continuing Education course in the same semester, you will be billed separately for the amount of your main campus tuition and CE tuition.
Winter Session tuition is charged in addition to ACCESS rates when enrolled in both programs concurrently.
Billing Schedule and Payment Deadlines
Winter Session is part of the spring semester and therefore has the same bill payment due date of February 5, 2021. Bills are available in Buff Portal (CUBill&Pay for authorized payers) by the second Thursday of January after you register for classes. Payment is due on the 5th of the following month. Postmarks and post-dated checks are not honored. Dates may be subject to change without notice.
You may be eligible to pay your tuition and fees in installments over the course of the current semester. Optional payment plans are available for undergraduate and graduate students or their authorized payers.
You may be eligible to receive financial aid to cover costs related to Winter Session. If you completed a 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you can contact the Office of Financial Aid to discuss additional funding options. The funding is typically limited to your remaining loan eligibility. You have until the end of the spring semester to submit a request. If you have not applied for financial aid, you can complete the 2020-21 FAFSA.
The Office of Financial Aid can assist with any questions. They are available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.—5 p.m. (MT).
