Kate Arnold-Murray is a PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics. Kate is a sociocultural linguist, and her dissertation focuses on digital grassroots organizing and celebrity politics in the 2024 “Swifties for Kamala” campaign. Her work focuses on how the campaign used language and imagery to appeal to Taylor Swift fans and young women voters in particular. Kate also holds a MS and BA in Linguistics from Georgetown University.
