Lecturer

Jessica Lawson (she/her/hers) is Denver-based writer and educator. She holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Poetry from CU-Boulder. Both her scholarship and her creative work focus on the relationship between language and the body, particularly as these relate to gender, trauma, legibility, and activism. Her debut book of poetry, Gash Atlas (2022), was selected by judge Erica Hunt for the Kore Press Institute Poetry Prize, and her chapbook Rot Contracts was published in 2020 (Trouble Department). Of Gash Atlas, Joyelle McSweeney writes, “Jessica Lawson turns the log-book of patriarchy inside out.”
