About the author: Alison M. Jaggar is a College Professor of Distinction at the University of Colorado Boulder in the departments of Philosophy and Women and Gender Studies. Jaggar is also a Research Co-ordinator at the University of Oslo's Center for the Study of Mind in Nature.
