Leonardo Zapata Ramirez

Leonardo Adiac Zapata Ramírez has been the Executive Director of Nuevas Esperanzas since July 2017. Leo is an IT engineer and joined Nuevas Esperanzas on 2011 to develop the organization’s GIS. Over the years, Leo has worked in several water projects in remote hillside communities which face water scarcity and in communities affected by arsenic water contamination. He has played a variety of roles that span across all projects cycle, including water quality sampling, data collection and processing, GIS mapping and modelling, terrain surveying, project design, management, reporting and evaluation, social work, audio-visual production and broadcasting, financial management and fundraising.
