Anoop Jain is the founding director of Sanitation and Health Rights in India (SHRI), a non-profit that works with local communities in rural India to end open defecation. He is currently doctoral student in public health at the University of California Berkeley, where he is researching social determinants of open defecation. Open defecation is a huge health crisis in India, and SHRI believes that all men, women and children deserve deserve to live a life dignified by access to improved sanitation. Prior to his current doctoral research at Berkeley, Anoop Jain received a BS in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University in 2009 and an MPH from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2013. He has been recognized as one of Forbes’ “30 under 30” social entrepreneurs. He will be speaking on behavior change.
