Point Designs

Point Designs is a pioneering medical device company specializing in high-strength, 3D-printed titanium prosthetic fingers for people with partial hand amputations. Jacob Segil  (CU Boulder Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering), Levin Sliker  (alum: CU Boulder Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering), Stephen Huddle  (alum: CU Boulder Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering) and Richard Weir (CU Anschutz), founded the company in 2016 to commercialize prosthetic technology produced in the CU Biomechatronics Development Laboratory on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Point Designs integrates advanced engineering with clinical insight to create rugged, ratcheting prostheses that restore function and independence. The product lineup includes the Point Digit, Point Partial, Point Thumb, and Point Pivot+. All products feature anatomically accurate flexion, touchscreen-compatible fingertip pads, and load capacities up to 150 lbs., enabling users to perform tasks ranging from delicate manipulation to heavy-duty labor.

In addition to the products division, the Point Designs clinical services team provides expert fabrication and alignment consultations while actively supporting a community of ambassadors who exemplify the strength and durability of Point Designs products and services.
