The University of Colorado Boulder’s STEM Research and Mentoring Program on Sustainable Building seeks to:

  • Stimulate interest in STEM fields among Native American students through a hands-on research and mentoring program focused on sustainable housing and building systems.
  • Create active involvement in engineering research and mentoring opportunities for underrepresented Native American students, faculty and engineering professionals.
  • Enhance educational and professional career trajectories of Native American students and faculty in STEM fields.
  • Support the existing building envelope research conducted by PI, Dr. John Zhai.
