Welcome to Student Life Social Interest Groups
What are Social Interest Groups?
Social Interest Groups are centered around shared hobbies and passions. These groups are designed to:
- Foster a sense of belonging
- Strengthen community bonds
- Enhance employee engagement
- Add fun and enrichment to your work life
Community standards
All group members are expected to uphold our division’s workplace policies and community standards. Let’s build a culture of respect, inclusion and fun—together.
If you have questions about Social Interest Groups, please contact meagan.combs@colorado.edu.
Social Interest Groups
Buffs & Books is a monthly general fiction book club open to everyone. We read a wide variety of fiction, and our members help shape the reading list.
Come every month or join us for the books that catch your interest. Whether you're a lifelong reader or just looking for a fun way to connect with others, we'd love to have you join us!
Please contact Kara (kara.stewart@colorado.edu) if interested in participating.

- September – Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

We are a group of CU Boulder staff and employees who engage with various fiber arts at all levels, including knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, weaving, sewing and more! Beginners are welcome. We will meet once a month to gather and chat while we work on a project. More experienced members may teach others the art(s) they are familiar with, including leading workshops, if interested!
Meetings will be the second Tuesday of the Month:
- Tuesday, July 14, 12pm to 1pm in UMC 306
- Tuesday Aug 11, 12pm to 1pm in UMC 306
Please contact Rebekah Jeffery (rebekah.jeffery@colorado.edu) for questions.
