New Emerging Adulthood in Higher Education features Lisa Severy

Book cover image of Emerging Adulthood in Higher Education
Those of you familiar with Jeffrey Jensen Arnett’s developmental theory of Emerging Adulthood will be very excited to hear that he has edited a new book, along with Joseph Murray, exploring the theory with scholars and practitioners in higher education and student affairs. The book explores how recent social, cultural and economic changes have altered the pathway to adulthood and the implications for how college students learn and develop. Most exciting for CU Boulder, the chapter on Career Development in Emerging Adulthood was written by our own Dr. Lisa Severy! In addition to having been our Director of Career Services for well over 15 years now, Lisa is a well-regarded scholar and leader in the field of career development nationally and internationally. This is one of many publications to which she has contributed and she serves on the boards of the American Counseling Association and the National Career Development Association, of which she was president in 2013-2014.
