Jason Sharman joined Student Legal Services in 2021. He came to SLS after more than ten years with the Colorado State Public Defender, where he has helped thousands of clients. Jason has extensive courtroom experience and has tried cases ranging from misdemeanors to violent felonies.
Prior to serving as a public defender, Jason was in private practice working in criminal defense, estate planning, contracts and landlord/tenant disputes. Jason also has experience in domestic relations and social security disability claims.
Because of his experience handling complex and serious cases, Jason understands how stressful and frightening the legal system can be. He serves his clients with candor and without judgment to present their cases in the best light possible to achieve an optimal outcome.
Jason is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, and a 2009 graduate of University of Colorado Law School, where he was in the top fifteen percent of his class. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado.
Jason is a member of the Colorado and Boulder Criminal Defense Bars and the Minoru Yasui Inn of Court.
