As a non-white, transgender, and disabled student in a historically very undiversified field, Rhys has not seen many voices like theirs represented widely across the department or the broader field of geosciences. They hope to strengthen our community by elevating others’ voices and promoting inclusion and accessibility.

Rhys investigates the links between polar amplification, the hydrologic cycle, and high-frequency variability of water isotopes in ice cores.

Rhys enjoys language learning, cooking and baking things they're not allergic to, audio recording and mixing, and travelling. They're also secretly an award-winning a cappella arranger.
