What is oSTEM @ CU?

We are CU Boulder’s chapter of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) Inc, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional organization for LGBTQ+ people in the STEM community. Find out more about oSTEM, Inc. here.

How can I get involved in oSTEM @ CU?

The easiest way to get involved is to come to our weekly club meetings! We also provide various volunteering opportunities for our members throughout the school year, especially for larger events that we hold such as the annual Out in STEM Symposium. To get in touch with us, you can email us at ostemboard@colorado.edu. You can also join our email list, where we send out weekly newsletters.

When/where are weekly meetings held?

For the fall 2021 semester, weekly oSTEM meetings will be held on Mondays from 7-8 PM Mountain Time in the BOLD Center (ECCE 100). We also will have a live Zoom link for each meeting, if you cannot make it in person. This link will be sent out on the Discord prior to the meeting.

How do I get on your Discord?

An invite link to our Discord can be found on our Linktree here. Please note: you must read through all the rules and mark that you have read them before you gain access the rest of the server!

How do I become a member of oSTEM @ CU?

Joining oSTEM @ the University of Colorado, Boulder as a student member is completely free; we have no chapter or national dues. Simply come to our weekly meetings to become a member! There are two levels of membership:

General member: must attend at least 3 meetings per semester and volunteer for one event/year

Involved member: must attend at least 7 meetings per semester and volunteer for at least two events/year

If you are a BOLD Scholar, either membership level will meet the requirement of student society involvement for your BOLD scholarship.
