The annual Spring Volunteer Fair hosted by the Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) introduces students to various volunteer opportunities on campus and in the Boulder community. The fair takes place Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 1-5 p.m. in the UMC’s Glenn Miller Ballroom.

Ways to prepare for the fair

Research before the fair

Spend time researching the groups and events highlighted at the fair. Your preparation will allow you to prioritize your time.

  • Visit the Volunteer Resource Center to learn more about short- and long-term volunteer programs.
  • Check out CUServes to explore service projects across campus, Boulder and surrounding communities.
  • Apply for the Volunteer Placement Program to invest in a semester-long volunteer opportunity with a recognized community partner.

Consider your goals

Take time to think about why you want to volunteer. By assessing your motives, you can narrow your choices to programs that fit your goals.

  • Do you want to meet new people and build relationships?
  • Do you want to develop new skills and enhance your resume?
  • Would you like to give back to the community?
  • Are you interested in leadership opportunities?
