Biography

Kimberly (Kim) Kruchen-Spaulding serves as the associate director for strategic initiatives in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Kim provides strategic support in order to successfully implement projects and initiatives.  

Growing up in Golden, Colorado, Kim came to CU Boulder where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and neuroscience. Kim started her professional journey at CU Boulder as a student activities coordinator in the University Memorial Center where she adapted several programs and impacted student success. She left to attend the University of Virignia where she received her master's degree, conducted research, and served as a Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) intern. Most recently, Kim served as the director of assessment, research, and data analytics in the Division of Student Affairs. Her research interests include student development, mattering, and organizational psychology.  

Kim is an active volunteer in professional higher education organizations, serving in various leadership roles. She also enjoys outdoor activities with her partner and dog, playing pickleball, and listening to live music.
