Derek returns as a second-year rower who previously saw acton in the Novice 4+, sitting out for several regattas during the Spring 2022 season due to injury. Derek was born in Switzerland and as a result speaks four languages fluently, but later moved to New Jersey prior to high school. Derek claims that rowing is the missing piece to his life and finds nirvana on the water each morning.
