Biography

Annabel Fay is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Annabel earned her B.A. in Sociology in 2019 from the University of California, Berkeley, and received an M.A. in Sociology at Columbia University in 2021. Her primary research interests include comparative-historical sociology, organizations, mental health, and field theory. Her previous research examined private and public adolescent treatment programs and the intersection between mental illness, substance use, and juvenile justice system involvement. Currently, her work focuses on the emergence of the post-WWII mental health field and the historical trajectory of mental health delivery in the United States.
