Last week the Natural Hazards Center hosted their 45th Annual Natural Hazards Workshop – and first ever online gathering. With over 800 people registered, it was the largest in the Center’s history. In addition, the Natural Hazards Center co-convened an entirely online add-on Researchers Meeting that involved nearly 500 researchers from around the world. Lori Peek serves as the Director of the Natural Hazards Center. Natural Hazards Center team members and major contributors to the historic convening efforts from Sociology included: Sociology doctoral alums Nnenia Campbell and Jamie Vickery, Sociology graduate student  research assistants Jessica Austin, Heather Champeau, Candace Evans, Melissa Villarreal, and Jocelyn West, and Sociology undergraduate student majors Sandra Anaa Appiah, Megan Costa, Helen Gardner, Luther Green, and Lydia Stalcup.
