Immigration, particularly Latino migration, has become a hot topic in United States politics. The current administration presents a unique set

of challenges to the study of migration.

This course will provide foundations in policy and sociological knowledge necessary to understand contemporary issues of migration.

The instructor is a Sociology PhD student who has spent over a year collecting ethnographic data on the US-Mexico border for her research on immigration and deportation.
