Malia Fredrickson

Malia Fredrickson is a PhD candidate in the Dowell & Allen Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. Malia studies neuroblastoma, a deadly pediatric cancer. Less than half of high-risk neuroblastoma patients survive and new treatments are desperately needed. Malia's research focuses on the oncogenic transcription factor MYCN which is often amplified in high-risk neuroblastoma. Specifically, Malia is interested in post-translational modifications of MYCN and their effect on MYCN induced transcription and DNA binding. She hopes her work may lead to novel treatment options for these high-risk patients.
