Club Innovation
CU Science Discovery is proud to partner with Adams-12 Five Star Schools to engage students in weekly math tutoring and unique STEM enrichment opportunities at Club Innovation, an afterschool program hosted at STEM Launch K-8 School in Thornton, CO.
Funded through the Colorado Academic Accelerator Program grant (CO-AAP), Science Discovery recruits, trains, and supports a diverse staff of dedicated CU student mentors and Northglenn High School tutors to be positive role models and engage elementary learners in math tutoring and a variety of STEM activities. Club Innovation engages students for 24 weeks each school year with the goal of improving student math outcomes and building positive STEM identities.
Club Innovation provides enrolled students with free snacks and supplies, 30 minutes of small-group math tutoring, and an hour of STEM content for 3 days each week throughout the school year. Science Discovery also provides STEM content and instructors/volunteers to lead Family STEM Nights four times each year, sharing our passion for STEM education with the entire school community. From learning robotics and coding to ecosystem cleanups, Club Innovation is sure to leave a lasting impact on young learners and the broader community.
