Welcome to CU Science Discovery,
a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education outreach program at the University of Colorado Boulder. Science Discovery manages programs that engage K-12 students and teachers in STEM and connect public audiences with the STEM research happening at CU Boulder. Science Discovery programs utilize CU scientific expertise, equipment, resources and faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in order to provide participants with unique, experiential STEM learning experiences.
Students in grades 4-6 are invited to slow down, get a closer look, and discover the natural world around them! In this afterschool program, we'll learn the fundamentals of nature journaling by combining observation, science, writing and art. Whether we're sketching the details of a tiny insect, recording sound maps, or documenting a cool bird behavior, we'll build observation skills while developing our own unique journaling style. CU Science Discovery, in partnership with BVSD, is recruiting research mentors to assist high school students in the Science Research Seminar course. Prospective mentors are invited to connect with students at the Meet a Mentor Fair and provide project guidance leading up to the BVSD Science Fair in February 2027.
