All plastics are polymers, but not all polymers are plastic! Whaaaat, you say? Polymers are defined as materials made of long, repeating chains of molecules. These materials often have unique properties, depending on the type of molecules being bonded and how they are bonded. Some polymers bend and stretch, like rubber and silicone. Others are hard and tough, like glass and some plastics. This kit invites you to play with different polymers in order to investigate their properties. So put on your science smock and get ready to get your hands messy. From monomers to polymers, Shrinky Dinks to kinetic sand and even Polymer Beads - let's dive deep into this ooey gooey science and have a blast as we explore why some things bounce and some things tangle!
