Dr. Alba Tuninetti (Associate Director of the Institute of Cognitive Science at CU Boulder), is iSAT’s new Ombudsperson. Dr. Tuninetti brings years of experience and dedication to promoting fairness, resolving conflicts, and ensuring the well-being of our Institute’s members. 

Dr. Tuninetti is a psycholinguist/neurolinguist whose research focuses on second language learning (L2) and multilingual speech perception. She is particularly interested in how existing (first language) acoustic and phonetic representations shape further language learning. She uses both behavioral and EEG/ERP methods in her research to study language acquisition. Other areas of interest are word learning, bilingualism, executive functions, and variability in the speech stream. 

Dr. Tuninetti has extensive international project management and research experience. She completed her PhD in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) and completed a certificate in Neuroscience from the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (Pittsburgh, PA, USA).
