Submit Missing Information

The Office of the Registrar has created a secure document upload form to allow faculty, staff and students to continue to submit paper forms and supporting documentation without having to visit our office in person.

We can accept the following file types: png, jpg, pdf, tif.

Military Service Exceptions

If you submitted a military verification and a tuition classification officer has asked you to submit additional information, please follow the steps below:

  1. If your supporting documents aren't already in digital format, obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of each one.
  2. Log in to the Office of the Registrar's tuition classification document upload form (if you don't have an IdentiKey yet, use our new student document upload form)
  3. Your student information will populate automatically, leaving two fields blank:
    • Reference number: Ignore this field.
    • Alternate Email Address: Unless the CU Boulder email address field is also blank, please ignore this field.
  4. Stop and review the form's instructions carefully.
  5. Under "Documents for Upload," click the drop-down and select "Residency Supporting Document."
  6. Click "Attach," locate the PDF or image of your document, and click "Open."
  7. If the upload was successful, the document will be listed with a "(Pending)" label. If you uploaded the file in error, click "Remove."
  8. Before you submit the form, upload any additional supporting documents.
  9. Once you've uploaded all files related to your petition, click "Submit."

Please allow five to seven business days for us to review your submission.

Paper Residency Petitions (Emancipation, Adult, Parent)

If you completed a paper residency petition and a tuition classification officer has asked you to submit additional information, please follow the steps below:

  1. If your supporting documents aren't already in digital format, obtain and save a clear photograph or scan of each one.
  2. Log in to the Office of the Registrar's tuition classification document upload form (if you don't have an IdentiKey yet, use our new student document upload form)
  3. Your student information will populate automatically, leaving two fields blank:
    • Reference number: Ignore this field.
    • Alternate Email Address: Unless the CU Boulder email address field is also blank, please ignore this field.
  4. Stop and review the form's instructions carefully.

Due to the large number of petitions we receive each semester, we ask that you refrain from contacting our office to check on your submission until at least four weeks have passed. Petition processing can take up to six weeks to complete. Please check your Buff Portal to-dos for updates.
