Policies

Policies exist at different levels (system, campus, college) and implementation of those policies depends on the unit's interpretation.

For example, the CU System's University Controller's office has fiscal procedures and an accounting handbook; these policies inform the procedures and policies set by the Purchasing Service Center (at the System level), which then informs how each campus sets its procedures, which is then interpreted within colleges and subsequently within academic units.

Knowing which level of policy to start with is an art. Consult with your Program Coordinator to find the best approach.

The list below is generally in order from most broad to most specific. The university has too many policies to list them all here; these are the most common or applicable.
