The Department of Political Science is pleased to announce a generous gift from Erin and Eric Fish to support undergraduate education and new learning initiatives. The Fishes enthusiastically support the department and its students. Erin Ainsworth Fish is a graduate of CU’s political science department and in 2017, was the featured speaker at the Political Science Department’s Spring Commencement ceremony. Their gift of $25,000 is directed at supporting the department’s new experiential learning initiative, “Learning by Doing,” which will expand educational offerings for undergraduates beyond the traditional classroom experience.

The Learning by Doing program will enhance the department’s curriculum with a set of problem-oriented, skills- and research-based educational experiences for undergraduate students. The aim is to develop analytical and writing skills, promote enhanced contact between students and faculty, and cultivate an environment of discovery and knowledge creation that involves students at all levels. The Fishes gift creates the Learning by Doing Fund.
