Office Assistant
The Office Assistant supports the daily administrative, operational, and communication functions for the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement during summer programming. This role is essential to ensuring program staff, instructors, teaching assistants, and students have the materials, documentation, and logistical support needed for effective program delivery and positive student outcomes. Housing may be available on a need basis.
The OA is responsible for providing the entire Office of Precollege Outreach & Engagement with office support, and will require strong communication, collaboration and attention to detail.
General responsibilities include:
- Provide professional and welcoming front-office customer service; greeting students, families, and visitors; answering, directing, and responding to phone calls and emails; monitoring and maintaining common areas; and completing general office tasks such as copying, filing, and mailing correspondence.
- Office Assistants also support program operations
- Assist with data entry and the collection and compilation of high school data
- Create program media as needed, including but not limited to flyers, social media posts, program yearbooks, and event materials.
- Supporting closing ceremonies as directed by program staff.Other duties are assigned as needed to support overall program success.
This role is ideal for individuals who are organized, dependable, student-focused, and interested in supporting college access and pre-collegiate programming.
Peer Advisors
The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement at CU Boulder invites applications for the Peer Advisors, Peer Mentors and Residential Advisor positions to provide academic, residential, and social support to first-generation and first-year students participating in programs with the Office of Precollege Outreach & Engagement Summer Academic Residential Programs. This role provides academic, residential, and social support with a strong emphasis on student wellness, engagement, and community building.
While these roles are primarily situated within each program: Bridge Summer Program, Upward Bound, Pre-Collegiate Development Program, and Outreach Programs; it is expected that every staff member act and support the overall mission of the Office of Precollege Outreach & Engagement by working collaboratively with other staff members in our department.
Program specific duties, training, and additional responsibilities will be shared during the hiring process for this position.
General Responsibilities include:
- Assist with classroom instruction
- Mentor students through peer groups
- Record attendance and supporting tutoring needs
- Promote student engagement
- Act as first responders.
- Peer Advisors plan and facilitate evening and weekend activities
- Supervise study-halls and free time
- Ensure student safety enforcing program standards and University policies while fostering a positive residential community.
This position requires the staff member to live on campus and requires evening and weekend availability (request to live off campus must be approved by program leadership). Program specific details will be shared by each program supervisor.
Previous experience working with first-generation students is preferred. Individuals who are passionate about mentorship and supporting students’ transition to CU Boulder are strongly encouraged to apply.
Night RA
The Night Residential Advisor (Night RA) is a live-in student leader who supports the overnight residential experience of students participating in programs sponsored by the Office of Precollege Outreach & Engagement. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive residence hall environment while upholding the mission and values of the OPCOE department.
This position serves ALL programs hosted by OPCOE. The Night RA team is responsible for the safety and security of all residents residing within Cheyene Arapahoe and Crosman residence halls. NRAs will need to have a strong understanding of each program and reporting structures to appropriately escalate any issues or challenges that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overnight on-duty coverage in the residence halls
- Conduct scheduled overnight floor rounds (approximately every 30 min from 11pm-7am)
- Respond to health, safety, security, and student wellness incidents following program and university protocols
- Maintain visibility and availability to student residents during overnight hours
- Ensure housing and room access policies are followed, including gender separation expectations
- Communicate overnight updates, concerns, or incidents to the Program Coordinator and Program Manager
- Complete required documentation including incident reports and infraction logs
- Support a safe, respectful, and community-centered residential environment
- Communicate and collaborate with fellow residential and program staff Assist with incident response, documentation, and policy enforcement as directed
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team activities
- Provide appropriate guidance while recognizing personal and professional boundaries
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and follow all reporting protocols
Weekend and nighttime availability are required. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting student safety and well-being in a residential setting.

Student Staff Pay Scale: $17.50-$23.00/ hour, based on years of service and experience.
Benefits: All undergraduate and graduate student positions are hired as student hourly and are not eligible for tuition remission. Work study is used, if awarded and available, but not required for hire. Benefits are limited, but include possible student retirement, and sick leave that accrues at a rate of 0.034 sick hours per every 1 hour worked.
