From Vice Chancellor Mull: Exploring opportunities

Hi Buff Families,

We are about three weeks into the fall semester, and I hope your student is doing well and enjoying the start of the new academic year. With football, volleyball and soccer seasons in full swing, it feels a little more like fall in Boulder despite the summer-like temperatures. I was happy to meet so many of you during move-in and look forward to connecting more as the year continues.

The campus is teeming with Buff pride and excitement, and I can already tell this semester will be special. As students settle into their schedules and the routines of the semester, we invite them to explore or rediscover what the university has to offer. We hope you will be part of our team in helping your student find resources to help them thrive. If your student is looking for opportunities for involvement, look no further than the Center for Student Involvement and the Volunteer Resource Center as a gateway for your student in discovering new connections and areas of passion. We also know many students are looking for graduate school and career opportunities. Our Career Services team focuses on helping them learn more about the intersection between their studies and interests to uncover their ideal career or academic pathway.

Whether your student is in their first year or final year, starting a new fall semester always brings change. In the Division of Student Affairs, our goal is to support your student in making friends, finding community and flourishing during their college experience. There are 30 departments within Student Affairs dedicated to the success and well-being of our Buffs. We are proud to be a partner in your student’s journey, and I encourage you to share these resources and services with them. I also encourage you to stay connected with New Student & Family Programs, who can help share even more resources with you to share with your student.

Remind your student to stay in touch with friends and family, while they meet new people and expand their social circle here at CU Boulder.

Your support in reinforcing these opportunities makes a tremendous difference!

Warmly,
Dr. D’Andra Mull
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
