Staying healthy

Buff Family Newsletter

Help keep your student healthy!
As the weather gets colder, students start facing more than just their exams. Illnesses can spread easily in places like college campuses, where there is a lot of contact between people. Fortunately, CU has plenty of resources to keep your student healthy throughout the winter!

Flu Shot Clinics

Wardenburg Health Services provides free
flu shots to students in various locations across campus throughout the flu season (October-April). No appointment is necessary, but students do need to provide their BuffOne Card. Encourage your student to get the flu shot earlier in the season, as this will provide them with the best protection! View clinic dates and locations

Cold Care Kits

Sometimes basic supplies like tea and tissues can be the most helpful when students are sick! Health Promotion provides free kits to students to help them through basic colds- plus, if any supplies run out, they provide free refills! Let your student know that a few small tools are all it takes to feel a little better! Find out more

Stay Active

When it gets colder outside, some students become less inclined to get up and get moving. However, staying active can help prevent sickness and keep your student healthy and happy! The Rec provides a variety of fitness classes and equipment, including intramural and club sports teams to keep students involved even when it gets cold outside. Learn more about the Rec

Feel Better Fast

Health is about more than just keeping your body in good shape- its about your mind too! That's why Wardenburg offers a three-part worshop series designed to help students learn coping strategies and mindfulness techniques to work through their emotions and deal with stressful situations. With all the demands of college, who know when that could be handy? View sections and sign up

Is your student starting to crave a good home cooked meal?

Taste of Home invites parents and family members to submit their favorite family recipe for the opportunity to be served to students on campus! Four recipes will be selected by campus dining staff and featured weekly in the Center for Community dining hall throughout November to give students a little "taste of home".
