Lecturers

Mathematics hires temporary faculty in the Lecturer job code when a regularly assigned courses faculty member is on sabbatical or other leave. Key responsibilities will be teaching in person, online, or a combination thereof. Compensation for Lecturers in MATH is determined by the College of Arts and Sciences Level C policy, as stated here:

The department of Mathematics provides Teaching Assistant support for lecturers who are teaching 5 credit classes. The spring 2025 rate for these appointments is $8,040.

Director of Student Success

This position provides unique opportunities for professional growth through leadership development programs and participation in campus-wide initiatives. This is a full-time position that will report to the Dean of Natural Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences, who oversees both the Department of Applied Mathematics (APPM) and the Department of Mathematics (MATH). The position is collectively supported by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Undergraduate Education, and the College of Engineering and Applied Science. As the Director of Student Success in Mathematics you will work directly with campus leaders, staff, and faculty to coordinate effort, resources, and strategies to create an ecosystem with shared responsibility for improving student success in mathematics. The role will involve strategic leadership, collaboration, and instructional innovation to enhance mathematics learning outcomes for all students.

The Director of Student Success in Mathematics will be hired as a Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) of appropriate rank with a joint appointment in the Department of Applied Mathematics and the Department of Mathematics. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2025.
