Day in the Life

For many of our roles, no day is ever the same, but there are some regular meetings and student connection points. In addition, building placement or functional role may require you to meet with campus partners, faculty from a residential academic program (RAP), oversee a living and learning community (LLC), or work with a first-year interest group (FIG). See below for what an average week might look like.

Live-in Hall Staff

Responsibility	Hours per week	Description
Supervision	8	One on ones with supervisor and direct reports
Community	8	Email management, drop-in hours, administrative tasks
Meetings	7.5	Staff, area, departmental and committee
Crisis Follow-up	6	Reviewing incident reports, meetings and campus partner follow-up
Conduct	5	Adjudicating student code of conduct violations
Advising	3	One on ones and Hall Council
ResX and Academic Initiatives	2.5	Managing ResX roll-out and implementation, meeting with RAP/LLC partners

Graduate & Family Housing Live-in Staff

Responsibility	Hours per week	Description
Supervision	4	One on ones with supervisor and direct reports
Community	8	Email management, drop-in hours, administrative tasks
Meetings	6	Staff, area, departmental and committee
Programming	2	Managing ResX roll-out and implementation, meeting with RAP/LLC partners
Desk Management	8	Customer service
Lease Management	8	Move in meetings, move-out process, check outs
Special Projects	4	Managing departmental needs with partners long-term

Coordinator & Community Center Operations

Responsibility	Hours per week	Description
Supervision	10	One on ones with supervisor and direct reports
Desk Management	10	Scheduling, time sheets, key security, administrative tasks
Office Hours	8	Email management, drop-in hours, administrative tasks
Meetings	7.5	Staff, area, departmental and committee
Community Engagement	4.5	Visiting communities, supporting ResX

Assistant Director & Managers

Responsibility	Hours per week	Description
Administrative	12	Email management, drop-in hours, adminstrative tasks, project management
Supervision	7	One on ones with supervisor, direct reports and committee chairs
Meetings	7	Leadership area, departmental and committee
Crisis Follow-up	7	Reviewing incident reports, coordinating response
Collateral Assignment	4	Committee and collateral management
ResX and Academic Initiatives	3	Managing ResX roll-out and implementation; meeting with RAPs
