Academic Success and Achievement Program (ASAP)

ASAP offers free peer tutoring to all first-year students and any student living on campus, including Commuting Buffs, new transfer students and Bear Creek residents.

At ASAP we support first-year students and any others living on campus with adjusting to college life. This includes tutoring in many different classes as well as mentorship in being a successful student. Through our peer led tutoring we help students be successful in their academic studies, remove barriers to signing up and show that tutoring is helpful for anyone. We offer small group tutoring that meets weekly throughout the semester and 1-on-1 one time sessions where students can receive extra help and see how tutoring may work for them.

We are offering a hybrid tutoring model, with both in person and virtual tutoring options available.

We provide:
  • One time or recurring sessions
  • One-on-one or group sessions
  • Trained peer mentors who tutor students taking similar courses and provide ongoing support
  • Study tips, effective exam preparation and support in transitioning to university-level academics
  • In-person or virtual options
