Congratulations to Will who was recently awarded a research grant from the American Ornithological Society! This research grant will be used by Will to expand on his honors thesis documenting a region of hybridization along the Front Range between eastern and western Houre Wren lineages. Specifically, the grant money will be used to seuqence whole genomes of eastern and western indivduals, as well as individuals sampled from nest boxes along our Boulder Chickadee Study Transect, to better characterize genomic divergence and hybridization in this newly discovered avian hybrid zone. Will's collaborators on this work include Dr. Garth Spellman and Dr. Erik Funk.
