Congratulations to Cori and Erik who were recently funded by the Denver Field Ornithologists.

Cori will use this grant to sequence nestling chickadee fecal samples collected during the summer 2020 field season around Boulder. Information on what adult chickadees feed their nestlings, paired with vegetation and arthropod surveys conducted around the corresponding nesting boxes, will provide insight into how the relationship between trees and insects affects chickadees living in the Front Range.

Erik will use his grant to pay for long read sequencing that will be used characterize a large chromosomal inversion that he recently discovered in redpoll finches!

Thanks so much to DFO for funding these projects!
