Soyeon joined MCDB in 2012, following her Post-Docotral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School (2005-2012). She received tenure with promotion to Associate Professor in 2019. Outside the lab, she enjoys running with her dogs and spending time with her family.

Asrafun Nahar

Asrafun (Asha) Nahar, Ph.D.

Post-doctoral Fellow
Asha received her Ph.D. from Yamaguchi University in Japan in 2017, and joined the lab in 2017. Her current project focuses on investigating mechanisms and functions of nucleotide-specific activities of the assembly chaperones of the proteasome base.

Suganya Sekaran, Ph.D.

Post-doctoral Fellow
Suganya received her Ph.D. from University of Madras in India, and joined the lab in 2019. Her project focuses on understanding the Nas2 chaperone functions and mechanisms, using in vitro and in vivo proteasome assembly systems. Outside the lab, she is an excellent cook, often sharing traditional Indian foods and deserts with the lab.

Izi joined the lab in 2019, and has been working as Research Assistant. Izi received UROP (2020-2021) and a prestigious Van Ek Award in 2021. Congratulations!
