  1. How do I get my biosafety cabinet certified?
  2. How do I track down a needed instrument?
    • Simply email the Shared Equipment Coordinator with the following information and we will do our best to track down existing instruments on campus for you.
      • Type of instrument (ex. circulating water bath)
      • Example of instrument (ex. VWR 1137-1P Circulating Water bath)
      • Timeframe needed (ex. starting July 1st for 2 months)

  3. I need to dispose of an instrument or other items, how can I do that?
    • It doesn't matter if the instrument(s) are functional or broken. Surplus property can deal with old equipment you no longer need. Contact your department property manager to coordinate surplus processing.
    • However, we may have a use for the equipment in the Green Labs Core. Email the Shared Equipment Coordinator and we will take a look at the equipment to determine if it is suitable for inclusion. If so, we will organize for the device to be relocated.

  4. How can I get trained on an instrument?
    • You must be trained on any instruments you are new to using. The Shared Equipment Coordinator can set up training for any shared instrument in the Green Labs Core program.

  5. Something in the Green Labs Core is broken, what should I do?
    • Email the Shared Equipment Coordinator immediately to let them know the instrument and the problem. For anything that is part of our shared equipment core, we will conduct or coordinate repairs, depending on the scope of the issue.
    • If the instrument should not be used and needs repairs, PLEASE put a simple sign on the instrument stating "Out of order". Thank you!
