The Program in Jewish Studies is seeking an individual who can serve as a Lecturer and teach four Hebrew language classes for the Program in Jewish Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder – two in Fall 2019 and two in Spring 2020. Candidates with higher degrees (MA or PhD) will be given preference.
Duties may include:
- Teaching
HEBR 3010 | Third Year Modern Hebrew, First Semester | MWF, 1:00PM - 1:50PM | Fall 2019 | 3 credit hours
HEBR 1010 | Beginning Modern Hebrew, First Semester | MWF, 2:00PM - 3:10PM | Fall 2019 | 4 credit hours
HEBR 3020 | Third Year Modern Hebrew, Second Semester | MWF, times TBD | Spring 2020 | 3 credit hours
HEBR 1020 | Beginning Modern Hebrew, Second Semester | MWF, times TBD | Spring 2020 | 4 credit hours - In consultation with Director of Jewish Studies and Hebrew Language Coordinator, developing course curriculum.
- Evaluating and meeting with students and submitting grades.
*Courses are subject to cancelation due to unit’s needs, lack of enrollment, or other unanticipated occurrences. If classes are canceled, the appointment may be reduced to less than 50% or discontinued.
Requirements:
- Candidates who have received a BA may apply.
- Fluent in Hebrew.
- Experience teaching language courses and developing curriculum.
Salary set by University: $4500 per class three credit class and $5000 per four credit class for a total of $19,000.
This is a temporary 50% position.
