The Moulakis Lecture Series on Responsible Engineering seeks to inspire students to start thinking today about the immense power of engineering and their active role in shaping its future. 

Lucky Vidmar and his wife Aubrey Ardema have made possible the Moulakis Lecture Series within the Herbst Program to honor Athanasios "Thanasi" Moulakis, Vidmar's friend and mentor, who was also his teacher in four separate Herbst courses.

In Cynthia Finelli's lecture she argues that teaching ethics in engineering requires a sustained conversation, not a limited module apart from the main course.

In Carl Mitcham's lecture he argues that engineering is not able to address the fundamental issue of defining what kind of world we want to live in.

Fall 2022 

In Vidmar's lecture, "Technology is a very human activity" he rejected the argument that engineers are tool-makers absolved of responsibility for what results from their projects downstream.
